Planning for next season has started with the members electing a new-look committee at the recent AGM. We thank those who are continuing and welcome a number of fresh faces.

The 2022/2023 committee is as follows:

Nick King (President), David Forster (Vice President), Kyle Chandler (Secretary – filling casual vacancy from AGM), Chris Woods (Treasurer), Eva Orlovski-Oliver (Grants), Mark Ellison and Jess Oakey (Social), Stu McManis (Bar/Canteen) and Liam Brimmer (Registrar)

The club would also like to take this opportunity to acknowledge and sincerely thank Mark Eaton and Eva Orlovski-Oliver for their significant contributions to Bayswater Strikers as they move on from the executive after amazing service over a long period of time. Mark took up VP duties in 2012 before taking on the Presidency in 2013 for nine of the next ten seasons. Eva took on the Secretary role in 2012 and has served the club for eleven straight seasons. Both have dedicated countless hours to the club as super ‘hands-on’ leaders ensuring that GTR has been a fantastic place for us all to play.

In their time they and their committees have done a magnificent job keeping the club moving forward. They oversaw the club’s move from the Bayside FA to the VCFA, dealt with the pandemic and cancelled seasons, kept the club’s culture as a family friendly and fun place to be at, worked with the variable conditions of GTR, successfully lobbied for ground and lighting upgrades and set the platform for the next Baysie generation by driving the Strategic Plan that will launch the club’s junior program. All while juggling their busy lives of family, work and having a kick themselves.

We are grateful for their service and look forward to continuing to have them around GTR. Please join us in congratulating these two truly ‘heart and soul of the club’ volunteers for their dedication over the past 11 years.
