Sally has been a cherished part of Bayswater Strikers for decades. Her dedication to the club, both on and off the field, has left an indelible mark.
How many years at Bayswater?
“22 years playing and 5 years as a spectator.”
Favourite Bayswater moment?
“The time Mark Murphy worked on a scoring drill with the girls and then it was played out in the game text book style and the crowd went wild.”
Best Bayswater social event each year?
“I always love trivia night as players bring their families, and I am a little bit competitive! Now, I love any juniors’ special days.”
Advice for anyone new to the club?
“It’s a great social club and very welcoming. Come with the right values, and you will be embraced.”
Favourite player you played with?
“So many over the years. All the women’s players have had great attitudes and competitiveness. Petra Van Egmond would be a great player to watch; you would often get caught watching her dance around players, but she also has a heart of gold.”
What are you looking forward to in 2025 at Baysy?
“Hopefully seeing my niece enjoying the sport I love in the juniors — but I fear she may just enjoy moving the colour cones around, haha!”
Thank you, Sally, for your incredible contributions to Bayswater over the years. Your passion, sportsmanship, and love for the game continue to inspire us all. ![]()
