“20”
Favourite Bayswater moment?
“There have been so many great moments at the club over the 20 years with a number of achievements for the women’s teams, which I know at least one of them has been mentioned by other life members. For me, most recently in the 2024 season we were able to expand the women’s program to two teams, and our Division One team came runner-up for the league and beat the top team twice (their only losses for the season).
The moment Ronnie scored the second goal, came running over in celebration, and jumped into my arms will stick with me as one of the best moments at the club for me.
Seeing the passion, commitment, and support by all the women was so incredible.”
Best Bayswater social event each year?
“It’s pretty hard to go past the trivia night during the season. People bring their friends and family, who usually wouldn’t attend, and everyone gets into the competitive spirit.”
Advice for anyone new to the club?
“It is soo incredibly worth taking that leap to come down to your first training session or game, and that is the hardest part. Keep showing up, and the results and the connections will be evident quickly.”
Favourite player you played with?
“There have been so many great players I have been lucky enough to play with over the years, and some of them are my closest friends.
Though it is hard to go past Sarah McCrae. When I was playing in centre mid and Sarah up front, our through balls and passes to each other without having to communicate made the game that much more enjoyable.”
What are you looking forward to in 2025 at Baysy?
“Continuing to be a part of the women’s program and continuing to develop the teams and club and seeing where we can go.”
Thank you, Sammy, for your incredible contributions to Bayswater over the years. ![]()
