The whole Bayswater Strikers family would like to wish Max and Cherokee Edwards all the best as they relocate interstate this weekend. We farewelled them at the Presentation Night on Saturday night (more to come on that in coming days).
The fantastic couple came down to Shark Park in 2019 and quickly embedded themselves into Baysie both on and off the pitch as a couple of absolute stars! A talented and classy player, Cherokee won the prestigious Women’s Player’s Player in 2023, was runner up in this year’s Best and Fairest and a high finisher in other years. Max has been a leading player for the seniors as an explosive winger and striker, winning the Steve D’Urso Best and Fairest in 2022 and 2024, Player’s Player in 2022 and 2023 and the Club Golden Boot in 2022, 2023 and an incredible 2024 where his 28 goals won this and the league award by an absolute mile.
As well as being jets on field, these two are amazing humans off it, as great teammates and friends to the players as well as taking on Junior Coaching duties in our inaugural season, Chez with Jessie for the Under 10 Girls and Max with Silas for the Under 11 Boys. Without children in the program, they did this to help the club find its feet and this sums up them up perfectly as great Baysie people.
We wish them well in everything they do in future and please join us in congratulating them both on their fantastic contribution to Bayswater over the past few years!
