It was amazing to officially open and celebrate Guy Turner Reserve’s brand new floodlights with the Mayor of Knox, Cr Jude Dwight, Jackson Taylor MP, Council staff as well as Bayswater members last night.

It was great to see the fantastic turnout of Bayswater players, junior and senior as well as committee members past and present. It was another great example of the amazing community that calls GTR home, and the lights shining down on the brand new oval is another sign of how far we have come, and how exciting the future is.

President King spoke on behalf of the club and thanked all those who have supported the club through advocacy, and in particular the efforts of long term former President Mark Eaton and past Secretary Eva Orlowski-Oliver for their critical roles in securing these upgrades for the club.

The club is grateful for the joint investment of over $275,000 for the lights from Knox City Council and the State Government ($150,000). We appreciate their commitment to community sport and recreation.

The future is bright for us as we continue our journey, going from strength to strength. See you at GTR soon!
